Michael Nau blends indie rock and psych-soul, with punchy drums, lush synths, and reverb-soaked vocals that drift between storytelling and introspection. His laid-back approach shaped the album Accompany’ with an organic feel—recorded live with longtime collaborators at Montrose Recording in Richmond, Virginia. After an initial session, Nau overdubbed parts at home but lost them before the final recording, leaving only a cassette of rough mixes as a guide. The result is an album that captures raw, in-the-moment energy.
