Scrotumtightening sea shanties. Great ballads of fire.

The Walker Roaders is a collective of musicians steeped in what has become known as ‘celtic-punk’. As both renowned originators and practitioners of the genre, the supergroup, as it has been described, consists of James Fearnley co-founder of The Pogues on accordion, Ted Hutt co-founder of Flogging Molly on acoustic guitar, and Marc Orrell multi-instrumentalist with Dropkick Murphys on banjo and mandolin. completing the line-up are storied producer Brad Wood on bass and coveted drummer Bryan Head.

Named after a street gang from Fearnley’s childhood in Manchester England, the two U.K. expatriates James and Ted formed the group in the U.S. with boston-raised Marc, with whom James had formed a friendship when Dropkick Murphys supported The Pogues on their 2005 Christmas tour. The Walker Roaders released their first album in late 2019 a month or two before the bucket of the pandemic doused their plans (and those of bands everywhere) for a couple of years. The band is currently writing and recording their second album, for release in 2024. their first single from it – “There Must Be Less To Life Than This” – was released in January 2024.
